Learn how to add pizzazz by pairing opposite plant combinations, and plants that give multi-season interest. While utilizing other curb appeal elements, such as: Paint, Light fixtures, outdoor furniture/cushions, garden art, etc all.  The elements of design: Scale, Form and Texture, Color, Unity, Rhythm/Repetition, etc. will be covered. While learning about the most important part of having the ultimate curb appeal… Maintenance!

Jacqueline will introduce some of the newest offerings in 2022 Learn how brighten spots with pops of color from flowers and foliage, as well as, create focal vignettes and welcoming entry gardens.

Jacqueline will introduce some of the newest offerings in 2022 for our zone 5 landscapes. Using both flower colors and continued interest with plant foliage, we will learn how to create focal vignettes, and discuss enhancing areas of our gardens.

Perennials for Spring, Summer & Fall – Choosing perennials for interest in the spring, summer, and fall seasons is confusing, not to go unmentioned, knowing how to maintain each plant during the season/s. Lecture includes: Plant combinations: what works well with each other. What plants to deadhead for re-bloom, and those that can be cutback once they have been “knocked ugly”. When to plant, transplant and divide. Mulching. Also a little mention on Annuals and why use them to compliment perennial plantings.

Putting the Garden to Sleep – Learn how to prepare gardens for the coming winter season including: what plants to cut back and what not to, mulching, soil amending, container and tool tips, and more. Also techniques for seed saving, division of plants that require fall transplanting, and bulb planting will be covered. Learn by doing and take home some seeds for next season’s garden.

Perennials offer 2 or more years of return on your investment. We will focus on both annuals & perennial plants: blooms, textures & forms, as well as, performance and survivability. Well planned gardens are coordinated based on achieving color throughout the season: early, mid and late.  Annuals that hold their own for a complete planting season, and Perennials that return in our zone 5/4 are the tried and true that we will introduce or re-acquaint you with for successful planting in the 2023 season!
